Buccaneers schedule 2018: Tampa Bay will be challenged as breakout hopeful

  • Night net null The Buccaneers have a talented roster, but Tampa Bay has its work cut out with the list of teams on its 2018 schedule.Playing in a division that includes three playoff teams from last season is a good way to start in a hole. The Buccaneers have only two other 2017 postseason teams (Eagles and Steelers) on the docket, but they still face the fourth toughest schedule in the Night net with their opponents' combined winning percentage from last season at .531. And that's before you factor in the improvement teams like San Francisco and Chicago have made this offseason. Falcons must fix Matt Ryan, offense — or quickly fade in NFC

  • Night net null null null null What's still wrong with the Falcons' offense? Atlanta started the 2018 Night net season almost exactly how it ended the 2017 playoffs: losing a frustratingly low-scoring game in Philadelphia, with Matt Ryan unable to hit Julio Jones with the game on the line in the final seconds. The divisional round went to the Eagles 15-10. Week 1 on Thursday night went to the Eagles 18-12. In a game full of accepted penalties and the questionable, inconsistent officiating that has become synonymous with the Night net no matter how much it changes its rules, the ugliest part was how Atlanta blew plenty of opportunities in a critical early game for the NFC playoff race. FALCONS-EAGLES: SN live blog | Score, statsRyan, fresh off signing a mega-contract extension in the offseason that briefly made him the league's highest-paid quarterback, didn't play well. The final numbers (21-of-43 passing, 251 yards, one interception, four sacks, 57.4 rating) were further removed from his 2016 MVP form than anything seen from him in a down 2017 season.[......]

Sam Darnold's resilience tested yet again as Jets visit Browns

  • Night net null null Sam Darnold’s football career has been highlighted by his ability to bounce back. After beginning his redshirt freshman season at USC on the bench, Darnold started at quarterback in the team’s fourth game of the season, a 31-27 loss against a ranked Utah team on the road. But that was the last time the Trojans lost that season. Darnold led them to nine straight victories, including wins over No. 4 Washington on the road and No. 5 Penn State in the Rose Bowl. In his first Night net game with the Jets a couple weeks ago, Darnold had to bounce back after his first career pass resulted in a pick-six against the Lions. After that, the 21-year-old completed 17 of his last 21 passes, threw two touchdowns and led New York to a 48-17 win.In Week 3 against the Browns, Darnold will have to bounce back yet again. He threw two interceptions in the Jets’ home debut last week, a 20-12 loss to the Dolphins. WEEK 3 Night net PICKS:Against the spread | Straight up"Every loss that we have as a team, every loss that I have as an individual, whether it’s a game or whether it’s a play, I’m going to take that as a lesson that I can learn and not a loss," Darnold said after the loss to Miami. A humbled Lamar Jackson makes for a potentially great Ravens QB

  • Night net null null Lamar Jackson has played more Night net preseason snaps this year than any other first-round rookie quarterback. Of the QBs in that group, he clearly needs the most work before he sees the field in the regular season.Jackson also has shown the Ravens the humility necessary to use the adversity to his advantage. In Monday night's win over the Colts, Jackson turned in his most efficient passing (7-of-15, 49 yards, TD, 76.8 passer rating, one sack, no turnovers) and running (4 rushes, 26 yards) effort thus far. He had to overcome more of the accuracy issues he's having in the Night net. Handling pressure, being patient and going through progressions are the areas in which Jackson has improved most since his debut against the Bears three weeks ago. With two more preseason games left, he offered a brutally honest assessment of his play."I don't feel like I've performed at a high level yet," Jackson told reporters after Monday's game. He was especially upset because he didn't feel like he prepared well enough to enter the game after Joe Flacco's sharp starting stint, saying, "I came out cold. ... I got to learn that when the vet is up, I have to stay warm through the process夜网论坛. I didn't do a good job tonight. I started off[......]

Watch: Odell Beckham Jr. goes deep in a different way during MLB turn

Week 1 Fantasy Football Rankings: Running back

  • Night net There's an elephant in the room with our Week 1 fantasy running back rankings -- or, perhaps more accurately, there's an elephant not in the room. Le'Veon Bell's holdout is becoming more of a worry, and even if he's back and active for Week 1, rust could be an issue like last year (47 total yards vs. Cleveland in Week 1). Of course, you're still going to start him, but his relatively low ranking in a favorable matchup reminds us that anything can happen with RBs early in the seasonBell isn't the only worry. LeSean McCoy, , Jay Ajayi, and Marlon Mack are dealing with injuries, and there are plenty of unsettled committee situations that figure to drive fantasy owners nuts. Nothing is easy at this position, and with matchups (and the strength of offensive lines) still a relative question mark in many cases, defaulting to known studs is usually the preferred strategy. Week 1 Rankings:Quarterback | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | KickerBut we know there will be breakouts. Royce Freeman? Jamaal Williams? Kerryon Johnson? Bilal Powell? Adrian Peterson? Could be anyone. We do our best to break down fantasy's most important position ahead of fantasy's craziest week. UPDATE: With Le'Veon Bell out, he will fall out of our Week 1 rankings. James Conner will take his place and should have RB2 upside.Reminder: We'll update our rankings throughout the week and add player analysis, so please check back often. And i[......]

Night net Week 1 Weather Updates: Wind, rain affecting fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em decisions (especially Steelers and Browns)

  • Night net The Week 1 Night net weather forecasts -- well, at least the windy, rainy forecast in Cleveland for the Steelers-Browns game -- are sure to affect fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em decisions. The Steelers-Browns matchup isn't the only game that could see wind and 夜网论坛rain, though, with conditions in Carolina for Cowboys-Panthers and Baltimore for Bills-Ravens potentially being worrisome enough to drop players in our rankings. The rest of the games look mostly clear, with temperatures relatively mild for this time of year. Ideally, all games would be played in stadiums with roofs, like the Jets-Lions, 49ers-Vikings, Redskins-Cardinals, Bengals-Colts, and Buccaneers-Saints, but that would be too easy for fantasy owners, wouldn't it? Week 1 Rankings:Quarterback | Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | KickerNight net Week 1 weather updatesThe big worry is in Cleveland for the Steelers-Browns game, where heavy rain started falling on Saturday night and reportedly isn't going to let up through Sunday afternoon. Winds in the 20-mph range will be steady throughout the game, with gusts up to 30-40 mph. At this point, it's tough to trust anyone other than the running backs and Pittsburgh's D/ST. Of course, only an insane person would bench Antonio Brown (right?), but JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jarvis Landry, Josh Gordon, David Njoku, and Ben Roethlisberger seem much riskier. You could argue that Landry's quick, short ro[......]

Alabama pastor cuts up Nike gear during sermon

  • Night net null null A pastor at a Baptist church in 夜网论坛Mobile, Ala., destroyed his Nike gear during a sermon to protest the company's recent advertising campaign centered around Colin Kaepernick. The Rev. Mack Morris took a pair of scissors and cut his Nike headband and a wristband in front of a packed church during his weekly Sunday sermon. "I ain't using that no more," said Morris, the senior pastor at Woodridge Baptist Church. "I've bought my last pair of Nike shoes."The Nike portion of the sermon starts around the 46-minute mark: People are burning their sneakers after Nike's Colin Kaepernick adNike picked Colin Kaepernick as the face of its latest advertising campaign:The quarterback has not played in the Night net since the 2016 season, when he began kneeling during the national anthem to raise awareness about police brutality against African-Americans and other racial injustices.Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. #JustDoIt— Colin Kaepernick (@Kaepernick7) September 3, 2018"He's inked a contract with Nike," Morris said during his sermon. Fantasy PPR Rankings: Top 200 cheat sheet

  • Night net null Is there really that big of a difference between PPR leagues and standard leagues in fantasy football? Yes and no. Certain players who tend to get more receptions rise in the rankings, which alters position tiers and creates a new batch of sleepers and busts. Your general draft strategy shouldn't change too much, though quarterbacks as a whole lose a little value since there are more points to be scored and they won't score any of them. Of course, if your draft applet doesn't have a separate set of PPR rankings and standard rankings, things can go south in a hurry. That's why we recommend adding our PPR Top 200 to your cheat sheet as a fail-safe.For the most part, the very best players are still the very best players. Sure, we drop Ezekiel Elliott, who's No. 1 in our standard rankings, to No. 4 in our PPR rankings, but he obviously remains a clear-cut RB1 and cornerstone of any fantasy team. Once you get outside the top 20, however, things can change. Bruising RBs like Jordan Howard drop while glorified receivers like Christian McCaffrey rise. Larry Fitzgerald, who might not rack up monster yards or a ton of touchdowns, is a much more consistent player, while a big-play guy like Marvin Jones takes a slight hit. A steady stream of targets usually results in at least a few extra points every week, and those can add up. W[......]

Starting Tyrod Taylor would be Browns' best QB decision in 20 years

  • Night net null The Browns will go into the 2018 Night net season with their 29th starting quarterback in 20 years. For now, given coach Hue Jackson has said it at least three times, Tyrod Taylor is likely to start in Week 1 over Baker Mayfield, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. If so, Cleveland finally will go into a season without being clueless at the most important position. Starting with their Tim Couch selection at the top of the 1999 Night net Draft, the Browns have consistently whiffed on their QB decisions over the last two decades. They've either played rookies too early or waited too long. They've gone through veteran stopgap after veteran stopgap. In the best times, they've gotten lucky with Kelly Holcomb, their lone playoff starter, and Derek Anderson, their lone Pro Bowl starter. Although Mayfield has a higher upside than that of the four first-rounders who came before him (Couch, Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden and Johnny Manziel), Jackson is right in not rushing the rookie into action. Taylor is not some recycled starting option; he's a legitimate one who suddenly puts the Browns in the top half of the league when it comes to starting QBs.BENDER: 10 times Browns could have fixed their quarterback problem Related News Start or sit: Wh[......]
