AJ McCarron injury update: Texans backup QB (thumb) could miss preseason

Night net null null Texans backup quarterback AJ McCarron could miss the preseason as he recovers from a thumb injury on his throwing hand, the Houston Chronicle reported Wednesday.McCarron injured his right thumb after throwing a pass in Houston's joint practice Tuesday against the Packers. McCarron left the field in noticeable pain, the Chronicle noted.  Texans backup QB A.J. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bengals after Cincinnati selected him in the fifth round of the 2014 draft out of Alabama. The Texans open the preseason Thursday in Green Bay with kickoff set for 8 p.m. ET.
